Winterstar's clear yowl rang out across the clearing. She flicked her tail for her Clan to come, then began racing towards the looming shadow of the Barn, the dark spot where the structure blocked out the moonshine. She could hear her pawsteps as they took her closer towards where all the Clans were to meet. She could tell by the scent and sound that PastureClan was the first to arrive. This was good and bad - they would have to wait for other Clans, but at the same time punctuality would possibly earn them some respect from the other Clans. She slowed down as she approached the barn, then slipped inside, perching herself on a hay bail to wait as the rest of her Clan trampled in.

Flashclaw hurried behind his leader, glancing around the empty barn as they entered. He sighed and made himself comfortable among the shavings and random straws of hay in the middle of the barn isle. He tried not to look at her, but couldn't resist--Flashclaw soon found himself gazing into the depths of Winterstar's clear [green?] gaze--hopefully she wouldn't make eye contact with him; that would just make things worse.

OOC: can you post with Silkstar, maybe? Then I'll join with my kitties from her Clan.

OOC: sorry, I forgot, lmao She trotted quickly, tail raised high for her Clan to follow. Soon they were running through the heather, and then there it was; the abandoned barn looming over them. She smiled and realized this was only the fifth time she was leading her Clan; the old leader had died six moons ago. She blinked as a lone tear slid down her cheek, then twitched her ears in annoyance to herself. Now was not the time to mourn Ashstar. She began to walk again, in a brisk pace. She was now consumed by the huge shadow of the barn; as she sniffed the air she recognized PastureClan. Good. Winterstar was already here.
Silkstar padded into the barn, shaking sticky shavings [alliteration =O] from her pads. She reached the tabby she-cat, surrounded by her Gathering patrol, and waved her tail to tell her own cats it was okay to mingle. Hello Winterstar, how's the prey running in PastureClan? She dipped her head in respect towards the leader.

ooc: Winterstar isn't actually white. CLICK for a picture. She was white as a kit. Her warrior name was Wintersand. Everyone thinks it's kind ironic that she's a lot closer to black.
[[ambergaze]] Ambergaze's always annoyed gaze swept the clearing. She knew the normal thing to do would be to look for the other medicine cats, discuss herbs, who knows what else. But, as she limped after her leader, she had no desire to do anything of the sort. Why should she? None of the other healers particularly enjoyed her presence. Deep inside she knew they weren't to blame, but that hardly mattered anyway. Yellow eyes narrowed, she looked instead for a couple warriors or something like that. She would sit with them and wish with her heart that she could be one of them. That would put her in a fine mood. Gatherings always did this to her, anyway - it was seeing all the warriors, so happy and satisfied that got to her.
[[cinderpaw]] Cinderpaw's heart hammered in her chest. She loved gatherings, though this was only her third ever. She remember her first... she had been so incredibly hyper, though she hadn't shown it. It was a wonder she hadn't died of a heart problem. The next morning she'd woken up with a cold, and she still suspected it was all that energy in her system trying to sneeze its way out. As she watched Silkstar, her eyes brightened. How much she would love to lead her Clan to a gathering. Don't get ambitious, she reminded herself sternly. Oh, but it was just a daydream. How much harm could it do? She pictured herself proudly bringing HeatherClan forward, as one, and then nodding a polite hello to the other leaders before settling in her place.
[[winterstar]] Winterstar smiled at the second leader to arrive. "Well, thank you. New-leaf is in the air, I can just feel it. I think the mice can, too; they're coming out much more." Her smile was warm and true, because she loved it when she didn't have to lie to the other leaders. At the moment, she had only one secret. Keeping herself from even glancing at Flashclaw, she continued to speak. "And in HeatherClan?" She kept her eyes carefully on the other leader, knowing that if she let her gaze wander it would land on him.

Bounding after Winterstar, came Rowanpaw. He had recently recieeved his apprentice name after joining the clan as a scruffy young loner. Yet, he hadn't gained his mentor yet... It seemed as if the warriors were low. He stopped behind his leader. Another cat approached and asked about the prey. This was so exiting! Rowanpaw's very first meeting. He let out a tiny shrill of excitement...
Caracalpaw soon came. Jadestar had named her and she was now to be referred to as Caracalheart. This wasn't her first gathering, but in fact her fourth or fifth. She had come ahead of Jadestar, so nothign seemed to be hapening yet. She looked around and spotted a cat coming over the horizon. She recognized the clean white female as the unmistakeable Moonhawk, in which she also knew from previous gatherings. Immedietly, the white she-cat came to Caracalheart and she shared tongues.

Beige paws padded into the barn following the rest of PastureClan. Swiftpaw's eyes were wide with excitement and he looked all around, soaking everything up. From the stacks of hay set upon the floor, to the gathered cats beginning to socialize. Swiftpaw knew not how to start a conversation with a random cat he hadn't met before, and was quite shy anyway. He was eight moons old, and this was his first Gathering. He was not a totally new apprentice, and knew enough from learning -- as well as having strong common sense -- what not to say. If he said anything at all. After another sweep over the cats, Swiftpaw's glowing amber eyes rested on a free space a few fox-lengths away from the hay bale Winterstar was sitting on. His brown striped tail twitched as he slipped through the crowd. Not even all the Clans were here yet and there were cats everywhere! The apprentice meowed some 'hellos' as he passed, but his mind was blank of any conversation starters, so he just made his way to his spot and sat down with his ears pricked in anticipation.

Another apprentice, an off-white tom, caught Cinderpaw's eye. She walked slowly and deliberately over to the other cat, a PastureClanner. He looked excited, but that didn't mean anything. Yet something told her that it was his first gathering. She smiled kindly and began speaking softly. "How is the prey running in PastureClan?" It was the most common formal conversation starter at a gathering, she had learned - she'd been asked it more times than she could count, and she kept mostly to herself. It wasn't even about knowing the answer as much as asking the question, beginning to talk. It seemed the right thing to do. Cinderpaw kept her ears politely pricked for an answer as she watched him through sapphire eyes. She knew that he might think her even younger than he because of her scrawny build, but it didn't matter.

OOC: I haven't checked around, are all of PastureClan's cats coming to the Gathering? Is Snowfeather there? If not, I'll delete this post, but if she is, then continue, lol.
IC: Snowfeather bounded into the barn after Winterstar. She had been waiting for the Gathering for quite a while now and she couldn't wait to see all of her other friends from the other Clans. As the rest of PastureClan came running in after Winterstar, Snowfeather sniffed around and picked up HeatherClan scent. Like a flash of lightning, Snowfeather darted toward where Swiftpaw and Cinderpaw were making conversation. "Hello there, Cinderpaw! How's everything in HeatherClan? Fine I hope." meowed Snowfeather, sitting down next to Swiftpaw.

Swiftpaw blinked in surprise at the friendly apprentice in front of him. How quickly she had come to speak with him! She had not been unsure of his reaction, the uncertainty Swiftpaw had been content to avoid. Shaking his head to stop the ambling thoughts, Swiftpaw gave a smile he hoped had not come off as too relieved. "Hello, the prey's been perfect. It gets more active each day." He replied. This was a subject he loved to talk about, as hunting was one of his favorite things to do. However, he sensed her question had been pointed more at how he was doing; by the way she had casually spoken it, and the by hearing it echo through the barn from every other cat's conversation. "Um, is it running well in your territory?" Swiftpaw meowed back, quite happy when Snowfeather showed up and voiced her own question to his companion. Cinderpaw, she was called. Swiftpaw suddenly decided he should have given his name. It was much easier thinking what you should have done when the pressure has passed...He normally had no such trouble speaking as this. It's just such a new experience, He thought to himself. The Gathering was so exciting there was too much to soak up than think about words. Hopefully, with time, he would be able to shake off the tongue-tie. Besides, the excitement definitely out-weighed the feeling of intimidation.

Cinderpaw dipped her head at the warrior, and answered both questions at once. "The hunting's been good in HeatherClan, thanks." She smiled quietly at the deputy and apprentice, nether of whose names she knew. She felt bad that a deputy from another Clan new her name and all she could tell was that the other cat held the high position. She had had a bout of outgoing-ness, but the urge to start conversations had faded and so she did no more than answer the inquiries. She waited - maybe the older cat would ask another question or something. In the meantime, Cinderpaw turned and looked at the two leaders.

Mixpaw kept to the back of the gathering. He didn't like gatherings, to many cats in one place. He hated crowded places he would rather be alone. But his leader said he was coming and he always respected his leaders decision. He stayed in the back trying to fade into the background and not to be noticed. His blue eye and his green eye watching in case somebody came near him. he closed one eye so that it might look as if he only had blue eyes. But that made it harder to see so he gave up and just sat down. Both eyes open.

"That's good, I'm glad to hear it. How has your apprentice work been going?" Snowfeather meowed to the HeatherClan apprentice. After Snowfeather was finished speaking, she felt embarassed that she had not said hello to Swiftpaw, even though he was from PastureClan, she felt it was rude not to greet him. "I'm sorry, Swiftpaw. I didn't mean to neglect you or anything. I felt it was rude of me not to say hello. Are you getting to know Cinderpaw? It'll be great when the other Clans get there. I can introduce you to some of my friends as well. For now, though, I'll just leave you two alone to get aquainted. See ya later, Cinderpaw. You too, Swiftpaw!" And with that note, she bounded toward where Winterstar was speaking with the HeatherClan leader, Silkstar.
