~>Emeraldfire<~
Short-furred dark tabby shape padded through the undergrowth, his flaming emerald orbs glancing around. Large paws barely touched the ground, or so it seemed, because they didn't make a single sound. Angular white-tipped black-striped ears swiveled around, listening intently for any sound of prey. Hhe heard the chirping of swallows, just returning from hibernation, high up in the canopies; squirrels chattering a layer lower. A large owl hooted loudly, soaring off of a branch and sailing into the night.
He looked at his surroundings. Trees and streams and moor and pastures blended into the landscape around him, merging with pines farther on towards the Gathering place. At the bases of certain trees lay acorns scattered around the trunks; some were merely shells--what had been inside had been nibbled up by mice and squirrels. As he glanced at one tree, his green eyes widened; immediately he dropped into a hunter's crouch, claws sliding out of their protective sheaths. Light as a feather, he padded forward, making sure not to step on dried leaves or twigs. He approached the creature, eyes narrowing in concentration, and at the right time, right place, or so it seemed, he pounced. But the little brown creature swerved around, widening its black beady eyes. The mouse dropped its nuts and scampered away, leaving Emeraldfire to drop onto the floor, claws outstretched, onto the roots where the mouse had been a second before.
Fox-dung! he spat furiously, digging his claws into the dirt and bark around him. How could he have missed that? That was one of the easiest catches she had ever encountered. She swerved around in anger and padded towards the Abandoned Barn. There were many mice there; he'd make up for her loss. He wasn't exactly supposed to go there...but whatever. Who would know? It was almost moon-high. A night walk wouldn't wake any cat.

~*Songfire*~
The moon was out high tonight, bathing the moorlands with its magnificent silver glow. The rich green grass that stretched out endlessly across the farmlands was now the shade of silver, swaying lightly in the breeze. It was peaceful, like it always was, and only the dashing rabbits that sprinted across the field disturbed the silence of the night. Suddenly, a flame-colored warrior padded out of the thick woodlands and onto the stretch of long grasses, the moon immediately catching onto her pelt and radiating her with a silver glow. Songfire breathed in the scent of moorland grass as it whipped around her paws, enjoying the nature as it unfolded around her.
Stretching out her legs, Songfire had a sudden urgency to run. And flattening her ginger autics against her head, she decided to do so. In one graceful leap the dark ginger she-cat was sprinting aimlessly across the farmland, quickening her pace each time she spotted a rabbit ahead of her. She purred in amusement when a couple more rabbit heads poked from inside the grass, their eyes flashing with fear and bewilderment. But she wasn't looking for a catch at that moment; she was too wrapped up in the breeze that ruffled her pelt and the moon that shone above her, guiding her throughout the moorlands.
Songfire stopped in her tracks, suddenly realizing that she had ran all the way to the Horse Barn. Deciding that it was not worth going back just yet, Songfire padded into the barn, expecting to catch a few mice to bring back to camp, when a sudden scent flooded over her. BrookClan! Songfire immediately recognized the rival clan's scent, and her fur bristled as she glanced around her. She soon spotted a dark tabby tom who was hunting mice within the barn as well, and her ears flattened against her flame-colored crania. She hadn't expected any cat to be here, especially a warrior from BrookClan. Songfire gave the tom a deadly glare and turned around to leave. She was certinaly not going to stay and hunt here with that tom. [/color]

Emeraldfire's dark ears pricked as he saw a small rodent scurrying across the barn, heading slowly for the other side. He narrowed his eyes. It was facing away from him; good. That meant it wouldn't sense him if he could stay light on the ground. Hopefully he could. He dropped his large, lean body into a crouch as his emerald eyes sparkled in anticipation. He adored hunting; it had always been his favorite thing to do when he was bored as an apprentice. As he crept forward quickly, sliding along the hay-covered, dirt-speckled floor, his eyes stayed fixed on the small brown creature.
Emeraldfire prayed to DreamClan that he'd get this one, or else everyone back at home in camp would make fun of him for not catching anything. Especially Fawnkit, the smart-mouthed she-cat. His eyes were narrowed to slits now in concentration; he was only a tail-length away now. His muscles tensed and he pounced, his broad paws landing squarely with the mouse between them. Before it could escape, he bit down onto its throat, killing it instantly. He stood up proudly, mouse between jaws, and padded over to a small dirt pile. he dropped the mouse there, scraping a layer of soil over it just in case.
As he turned around, ears swiveling absentmindedly, he took a deep breath, tasting the air. His sensitive scent glands were flooded with the fresh scent of...ForestClan! His eyes widened, and he turned around, optics scanning the entrance of the barn. He spotted a dark ginger shape, turning around. He recognized Songfire; he'd seen her at Gatherings. He bounded over to her, wondering why she was leaving.
Hello....I'm Emeraldfire. What's wrong? he mewed, brows furrowing slightly.

'Hello...I'm Emeraldfire. What's wrong?'
Songfire stopped in her tracks when she heard the tom's concerned mew. Sighing, Songfire turned back around and padded up to him, standing nose to nose with him with her sharp emerald eyes gleaming. "Emeraldfire, huh? I'm Songfire, and I'm in ForestClan. Why would I ever stay here with you?" Songfire meowed bitterly, narrowing her eyes at the tom. She then stepped back, curling her lips in disgust.
OOC - Yes, it's short, and I'm sorry. I tihnk I'm out of muse or someting, xD. It'll get better, promise.

Emeraldfire's leaf-green ors widened in surprise. This she-cat was definitely not one to be messed with; she didn't seem too nice either. His ears pricked; it was actually sort of amusing that she was so snide. And bitter. Opening his jaws, eyes sparkling, he let out a mew. Because I'm handsome and great. He flashed his teeth in a grin, shoulders rolling backwards. It was strange for him to be arrogant like this, but whatever. This she-cat who caleld herself Songfire needed some fun, and maybe now was the time.
It's okay mine sucks too. =P
