Name: Winterstar
Age: 42
Gender: She-Cat
Desired Clan: PastureClan
Desired Position: Leader
Personality: Winterstar is, in many ways, a cat of secrets - her eyes don't always tell everything about her, and she prefers often to keep to herself. She holds her feelings inside her heart and it's a difficult task to get to know her. She isn't suspicious of anyone in particular, simply not trusting the world as a whole. She thinks that emotions are a private thing, not something that should be displayed for the forest to see.
Despite her carefully guarding her beliefs, Winterstar is a warm cat. She is kind to others and assumes the best. She is hard to anger because of her tight self-control and many of the Clan's kits adore her. She smiles at everyone whether she's had a good day or a terrible one. Many people think, because of all her friendly actions, that she is open, but they are the ones who know her least.
When Winterstar gets depressed, she often stays that way for moons. She is easy to upset, and, because she never talks to anyone about it, is hard to cheer up. No one else knows when she's not feeling well, and she always works as hard as ever for her Clan. She is, you could say, the opposite of a slacker - she never gives herself a break. Whenever anything goes wrong in the Clan, she blames herself no matter how little she had to do with the mistake. Some days she loves to be leader, helping others, and some days she wishes all the responsibility would just be taken off her shoulders.
Her not-so-rare depression doesn't stop her from having hobbies. Winderstar loves walking around at night when everything is quiet and will often wake up a little while before sunup and wander through the woods until the first pinks of dawn show on the horizon. She rarely hunts in this time, preferring to spend the relaxing loneliness just being by herself with no one to act for and nothing to do. She likes fighting because it lets her shed the joyful coat she lugs everywhere and just loose herself. She does not, however, approve of killing or fighting without cause. If she'd been raised by rogue moralities, she would enjoy seeking a a good fight, but because of her own code, she would do no such thing. She believes strongly in StarClan, which is one of the reason she enjoys nighttime walks so much.
Physical Description: Winterstar is a beautiful cat, but would not stand out from a crowd of other felines. Her coat has a dark, sandy look to it. Each short hair is brown or gray with a tip of pure black. The different hues are blended so nicely that looking at her fur gives one the feeling of looking at a beach of dark and light grains. Only on her tail and legs do some stripes of night separate from the rest of her colors.
Her face is lighter than most of her body, with all the different shades of her pelt in different places. A black tabby M is there, swimming in savanna browns and grays. Her yellow eyes are ringed first by thin black and then by wider white circles, matching her orange-pink nose. Her ears, coming off her head diagonally, are large and ever so slightly tipped with black. Her whiskers are short but thick and sturdy.
Winterstar is built for speed, thin and long-legged. Her tail reaches far behind her, and when she sprints it keeps her balanced with ease. Her face is narrow and aerodynamic, and her huge ears fold comfortably down when she needs to go fast. She is, altogether, the kind of cat that would be called "handsome".

History: Nothing interesting has ever happened to Winterstar. Her mother, a sweet cat, died after she had become a warrior. She has one brother, in her Clan, and their father recently passed away. She loved being a kit, not understanding yet how to be quiet and respectful. When she was an apprentice, her mentor was kind but not at all interested in personal complaints. Winterpaw was, without realizing it, taught when to keep her mouth shut. She trained her first apprentice well, much like her mentor in technique and attitude. She was made deputy at the age of 36 moons and loved it. She sometimes dreaded, however, the day when all of the Clan's needs would be shifted to her shoulders, the day when her name would become what it now is. Her first quarter-moon of being leader, she was so stressed she could barely sleep. After a few sunrises the panic dissolved and she stepped up to being a wonderful leader. IC: It was really a matter of habit; she'd be doing this for so long that her internal clock was set. That had to be why she was able to wake up before there was light to hit her face every morning. And yet it felt like more than that - more like some force was there, opening her amber eyes when darkness still ruled the sky. Winterstar looked up and the silverpelt thoughtfully for a couple moments as she stretched the sleep from her muscles. It was cold out and her fur, however thick, was too short to keep out the frozen winds of the night. She shivered only a little and started moving, trotting to keep herself warm. She headed for the exit of the camp, leaving for her daily walk. The black tip of her tail finally disappeared, swishing back and forth as the bracken hid it from the camp's view.
Once she was a nice distance away from her Clan's camp, Winterstar sat down. It wasn't the kind of motion she would ever let anyone see; instead of her usual graceful consciousness, the act was unplanned and sudden. She sunk to the ground, her forepaws holding her in a seated position, and just let herself be there. Her mind was blank of worries, meditating and calm as she stared through the moon's hazy glow. It was the only time that the word responsibility held no wait, the only part of each day when she could be herself. Her lungs worked slowly, and she watched the warm fog that she exhaled as it climbed skyward. She let herself feel the sadness that had been pressing on her and then pretended that in each breath of air it was leaving her body.
