[glow=blue,2,300]Name:[/glow] Nicolae (pronounced NIK-o-lie)
[glow=blue,2,300]Age:[/glow] 23 moons
[glow=blue,2,300]Gender:[/glow] Tom
[glow=blue,2,300]Clan:[/glow] None; Lonah
[glow=blue,2,300]Desired Position:[/glow] Umm...let's go for de lonah!
[glow=blue,2,300]Personality:[/glow] Nicolae is the kind of tom that cares for what he thinks, and doesn't give a fox's tail for what anyone else thinks. He doesn't try to form his personality to any other cat but he. He also doesn't compare himself to others. Really, he is almost the least self-conscious cat around. If someone doesn't like him, oh well. He won't go out of his way to avoid that cat, as a matter of fact, he might annoy that cat whenever possible. He actually can be quite likeable with his wild attitude, and adventurous spirit. He loves to joke around, and is almost always in good humour. Sometimes he can be insensitive, leading to irritated or impatient feelings from others. He's very smart, despite his random foolhardiness.
Nicolae would not be able to live if he was in a Clan. He totally loves governing himself, and hates too much rules. If he was to be in a tough situation, he'd rely upon his cleverness and past experiences to get out of it. He is a quick and shrewd fighter, which makes up for his smallish size. He is also a very swift runner and climber.
Sometimes he'll trick unsuspecting cats into tricks, or mild danger for fun, but usually he'll stay around and see if it gets too nasty, running in to help them through it so he can act like a hero for a few minutes. He loves to joke, especially when he's in a bad mood, although at those times they can get pretty nasty.
[glow=blue,2,300]Physical Description:[/glow] Nicolae's pelt is a light ginger, or tawny tan color with slightly darker rusty ginger stripes along his back darkening his whole back, then leading to the lighter tawny at his sides and belly, and thicker stripes down his legs and tail. His eyes are a bright golden-green that seem to spark with a life of their own at times. The light sun-orange fur is short, and his ears are a little larger than average. He has a long tail and long legs for fast and nimble running.

[glow=blue,2,300]History:[/glow]
*Optional, but preferred*
Nicolae was born to a kittypet mother in a twoleg farmhouse along with two sisters and a brother. His mother, Kendra, was a graceful, plump, yellow cat with clear amber eyes. She was a kittypet through and through. Valley, his father, was a lean, marbled brown tomcat, and a little plump himself, for he often came by to eat the rich food the twolegs laid out for cats. But other than stopping for food, he was pretty scarce. He rarely visited his mate and kittens when they were born, and stopped altogether when they started growing. Kendra told her kittens that he was a very brave cat, and loved often to go exploring here and there throughout the land. He only didn't stop by because his intrepid spirit was always pulling him to go somewhere new, she said.
Nicolae couldn't wait to meet his father now that he could understand things in the world, and he could often be found (when he was not rough-housing) sitting at a windowsill looking outside for a glimpse of Valley. He went on like this for moons, but eventually, when he never saw what he was looking for, he ceased, and paid more attention to the surroundings in his house, and the twolegs. The kittens had never been outside; Kendra reassured them that they weren't missing anything.
"It's all dirt and rocks. Quite a mess, really. Don't worry my loves, I'll take you out someday, don't you worry." She only made this promise because, being kittens, they were curious of everything, and wouldn't stop bothering her about the outside world. Nicolae especially. He was very taken with the trees and the wind, which was hardly ever felt unless the screen door was open. The young tom made many escape attempts, but he couldn't manage it.
Finally, when the kittens were grown to double the size they used to be, Kendra gave in. She led the kittens to the basement, a part of the house where they'd always been forbidden. Once there, the mother led them to the far wall and pulled back a piece of carpet to reveal a good-sized hole. One by one they slid out, eyes wide with wonder, tails high with curiosity. Nicolae was everywhere at once. One moment he was sniffing the roots of an oak tree, the next moment he was pawing at a puddle, and still the next moment he was chasing and leaping after butterflies. Kendra wouldn't admit it, but he was the most like Valley. She didn't want any of her kittens to go off and become like him, though. While she did love him, he was away too much for her taste. She'd rather have her young where she could keep an eye on them.
Apart from Nicolae, the kittens soon grew bored with examining the grass and bugs. They mewed for food and Kendra gratefully directed them back to the hole. But Nicolae wasn't bored at all. He wanted to go beyond the wooden fence. He could scent all sorts of things from between the cracks. Other cats, for one. And food. But not the food the twolegs fed him, no, it was more...it smelled like fresh food. Prey. The small tom began to creep toward the fence, the smells of 'out there' seeming to call to his very blood. But Kendra wouldn't even think about it. She yowled his name and padded heavily after him. She didn't like to go too near the gate.
She caught up with her son, and had begun to shoo him back to the hole, when the twolegs burst out the front door. Kendra swung her head around swiftly and caught sight of the twolegs carrying boxes with holes. Whiny mews could be heard from inside. Kendra wasn't terribly worried, though. She knew the twolegs were only taking them to the vet. It was natural in some cases. Obviously, the twolegs didn't want any more cats.
Nicolae was horrified. Why put them in boxes? What did his mother mean by 'alter'? It sure didn't sound like something he wanted. And the scents from beyond the fence were singing through his whiskers. He imagined he could even feel them vibrate.
So to make this already long story shorter than it could have been, Nicolae made a desperate escape effort through the fence. He was almost caught, but the twolegs were too busy dealing with Kendra and the kittens to make a big fuss. So he got away into the forest.
As soon as his paws touched the free ground, Nicolae felt as if he was actually home. He spent many days learning about this new world, and learning how to hunt. He thought about his father sometimes, and wonders if he'll ever meet him, and if he'd recognize him if he did come around.
So now, Nicolae is a forest cat. He has never thought twice about his decision to run, and enjoys his life to the best he can. When he first was exploring this land, he came across the Clans, but after seeing how they work, the leaders, deputies, etc. he knew it was no way for him to live. So he mainly keeps himself to himself, but loves company.
(I realize it might have gotten a little tedious learning about his kitten-hood days, but once I started typing about it, I couldn't stop!)
[glow=blue,2,300]IC:[/glow] It was a slender siamese. Nicolae noticed this right off. The brown muzzle, ears, and paws, with the beige body was an all too clear give-away. He sniffed. Female. Her fur was silky with some tangles here and there. She was obviously lost. Her amazingly clear blue eyes were wide and she kept looking in all directions. And her pawsteps were shaky. Nicolae wondered how she came to be here of all places, rather than in some comfy carpet cat-tree, sharpening her claws on cardboard walls.
"No matter," He meowed to himself. With a leap and a bound, he was about a fox-length in front of the she-cat. She started terribly with a shriek, and springing into the air. Once she landed, though, the shriek quickly morphed into a growing hiss, and her back arched, hair bristling. Her tail fluffed to twice it's normal size and she glared at Nicolae with hostility.
"Don't get your furr in a knot," He sniffed, padding up to the she-cat and whisping his tail annoyingly past her nose. She hissed fiercely still. "You're lost, aren't you? Do you know who I am?" He stared at her with a firm responsible look, and her eyes held respect. She stopped hissing, also, and sat down, wrapping her tail tightly, and stiffly, across her paws.
"No.. Should I?" She meowed with a sweet, tinkling voice.
Nicolae hissed in a very convincing frustration-like way.
"Yes, you should. It was not long before this time that I was known by all around these parts. As the Great Morcheeni: Path Finder! Although now, my title seems to have dwindled these last moons. Cats turning more and more to themselves, not asking for help. I've been forgotten." He took on a mournful tone near the end, staring at the ground. The siamese trilled sympathetically and stepped forward.
"You can take me back home. I live just beyond a big hill covered with sheep. My house is cream colored, with a white fence. Do you know the place?"
"Why, I do! May all the fleas be banished from your nest! Let me lead you home." Nicolae yowled. The she-cat flinched a little at the mention of fleas and looked self-consciously at the base of her tail as if feeling something. Then Nicolae strode forward and gave her a hearty nudge. "Come, come! This way; follow me!" He meowed, bounding off into the undergrowth. The kittypet jumped up and trotted after him, creamy brown tail hovering above the leaves.
Nicolae was mentally locating all the muddy holes, brooks, thorns, and ant hills around the area. He laughed to himself. What a merry journey this would be!
