Name: Shimmer
Age: 32
Gender: She-Cat
Desired Clan: None
Desired Position: Loner
Personality: Probably the best word to describe Shimmer is evil. She has a heart of ice, beating coldly in her chest. Sympathy is not a part of her vocabulary, nor mercy. Her claws have killed many others, swiftly with a single uncaring blow or slowly to draw out the pain. She enjoys seeing others suffer, smiles at their misery. There is not a kind hair on her pelt, not an empathetic bone in her body. She never ducks out of a fight unless it is clear that she doesn't have a chance and will battle until her opponent is dead or she is forced to flee.
A close running up to "evil" is deadly. She is a strong cat, and clever in battle. Without size as an advantage, she conditioned herself endure long fights and ride through the effects of injuries. She can stand pain well, though she doesn't like it at all. Because of her build, she didn't have as much initial muscle as others start with before their training. It is still hard for her to match a larger feline in that particular area, but her speed usually makes up for the force she lacks. She is a quick-thinking cat, trying first to outwit her enemy.
Of all acquired skills, acting is the one that Shimmer excels at. She uses her talent to fake weakness, which is made easy by her appearance, and then takes enemies by surprise. She can hide almost any emotion and lie with astonishing convincingness. Her favorite game is to trick a cat into trusting her and then attack when their back is turned. Playing fair? That kind of moral strategy is not for Shimmer. If she played fair, she wouldn't get to kill as much and she would not be able to stand that. After all, ever cat has their cravings. Shimmer's is the adrenaline of battle and the satisfaction of a win. She becomes restless and has trouble controlling herself if it's been a while since her last fight.
Fierce and skillful as she is, Shimmer has her share of fears. She hates the thought of death, partly because of her firm belief that StarClan is the most idiotic idea ever. She keeps her strictly controlled thoughts as far away from the topic as possible, often making the embarrassing decision to retreat if a fight isn't going well. But far more than death, the she-cat fears love. She will use it for her if it's the emotion of another, but she is terrified of having it once more used against her. If she sees a tom that is at all attractive to her, she makes short work of killing him. She is terrified that some day her heart will re-emerge, gaining control of her.
Physical Description: Shimmer was blessed with one thing, something unattainable to those who did not have it from the beginning - beauty. Her fur is long and soft with light hues forming a color point pattern. Her body is a white cream, reminiscent of warm milk or fluffy little clouds. Reflected light dances off her - making it just a little hard to hide in a full moon night. Somehow, despite the color, her bright pelt manages to always look clean. Accenting the white, her face, tail and legs show a darker silver, making her seem even more like a Balinese bred for show. Perhaps her ancestors were in fact kittypets and passed their looks on to her.
Staring out from her gray face are two eyes the color of smoky sapphires, a blue mixed with the color around it. These orbs can show anything from boredom to excitement, from realistic but fake compassion to true cruelty and coldness. They are one of her most important weapons because of how well she can control the expression within them. Below her cloudy-sky pools rests a little nose, delicate and pink. It is outlined in a dark silver, nearly black, but only thinly. Her whole face is a collage of innocent hues - but don't be fooled.
Again misleading are her delicate legs and thin form. Her muscles are hidden beneath a silky coat and inside narrow limbs. Her body is lithe but not strong and she is lighter than the average feline. She is tall as anycat, perhaps, but her build is that of length instead of width. Her muzzle is also long and thin, making her look streamlined and fast.
Picture: click - not too accurate, but the best I could find.
History: Shimmer wasn't always the evil cat she is now. There was a time before all the coldness of the world hit her. Back then, she had been soft as a kittypet, a happy member of a loner Clan. Shimmer was born into her Clan and raised with its beliefs. It was a group of loners and ex-Clanners who had left for sad reasons. Some of them had felt out of place, not believing in warrior ancestors. Some couples had been from different Clans and fallen in love. Shimmer's mother and father had been such a pair, happy to be away from the WindClan-RiverClan rivalry that had separated them. Shimmer and her sister, Lilac, were happy kits. They played but not roughly and were taught how to be kind and caring.
Shimmer was picked out for the healer spot. She couldn't have been happier. She and the other Healer apprentice, Talon - who was the current Healer's son - learned together and enjoyed the good times, taking all the happiness for granted. She learned many herbs and even a little bit of defense, though the little Clan didn't worry too much about battles, seeing as they had no enemies. She deal with a thorn in someone's paw or an escape artist tick quite well by the time she was ten moons old. She learned a about how to heal an infected snake bite and what to do for a cat with a bleeding wound. She was competent in all the simpler forms of healing, thought Talon was many times better than she.
Her happy life was added to when she was fourteen moons old. A mysterious rogue, his eyes dark with playful secrets, entered her life. He found her while she was hunting and she could see by the look in his eyes that he loved her. She returned the gaze, but her feelings were much deeper than her blue orbs. They met in secret many times and she forgot about what she and Talon had shared. When her mentor died, it was decided that the taker of the position would be Talon. This was fine; that was always the way the Clan worked with its healers. She enjoyed spending nights with Fang, and she wasn't very surprised when Talon told her that she was pregnant. He was looking around jealously at the other toms in the Clan, but she didn't notice his suspicion and envy.
When Silver was born, Shimmer marveled at how much he looked like her - except one paw which was black, the color of Fang's pelt. Silver was Shimmer's life, her favorite thing in the world, and she could not go for a minute without knowing how he was. He had had no siblings, not a single other kit in her litter, so all of her love was saved for him. The Clan didn't know who the father was, but Shimmer easily ignored the flying rumors and narrowed eyes. She was content, but wondered where her precious Fang had gone... IC: Shimmer lay in the nursery of her Clan. She was the only mother at the moment, all the other she-cats were working warrior duties. She was alone with Silver, her only son. He rolled on his back, batting playfully at her tail. Shimmer's eyes were round and soft, loving. Her warm heart made her help everyone in the Clan, but right now it was focused almost entirely on Silver. The rest of her love was searching the forest, wishing for Fang to come. She had last seen him when she had told him that she was pregnant with his kit; he had welcomed the news. The sun streamed from the sky, lighting up her white pelt. Suddenly, however, a shadow fell across her and blocked out the sun. She looked up into the bright green eyes of her beloved mate. "Fang, you're here! I'm so glad you came! But what if they find you?" Strangely, instead of responding, he smiled. But it wasn't an I-love-you smile, and Shimmer's chest clenched with confusion and fear as she recognized the grin as one that a rogue would give when they're telling you that they're about to try to kill you. Shimmer stood as Fang stepped forward, and suddenly flinched as his paw struck out. To her surprise, it didn't even come close to hitting her. Then, she looked down and saw Silver, limp and bloody, on the ground. "No, no... Why? I.." she trailed off as he began to advance toward her. She wanted to fight back, but she couldn't. Suddenly, she bolted away, running, running, until the thudding pawsteps behind her slowed and faded into the distance.
::~~Several Moons Later~~:: Frigid air whipped past, reaching Shimmer's skin as if her fur wasn't even there. Rain pelted from the darkened sky, soaking the light-hued feline through and through. Shimmer's eyes were half closed to block out the wet, but she could still see. Some of the lost daylight filtered through layers of thick black cloud, giving everything an eerie look. Shimmer opened her jaws and breathed in, capturing millions of musty scents. She could feel the ease of movement, the grace and strength behind every step she took. It had taken her moons and moons to train her muscles and mind, but it was worth it. The coordination with which she moved, the flawless gait, everything was perfect. Just as she had dreamed it would be. Her heart thudded in her chest, so painful with every beat. Fury washed over her anew, and she had to control herself, forcing her claws back into their sheaths. And then the smell hit her, causing anger and remembrance to combine into one overwhelming emotion. Shimmer mastered herself, overcame the urge to flee, the urge to go back to her lonely den and hide. She instead followed her nose, bracing herself to walk against the wind – and walk into the storm. She caught a glimpse of something dark brown moving with a way only a cat could. Her orbs focused in, and she knew at once it was him. Fang. Her beloved, her hated. She stalked closer on soundless paws, until he was only a foxlength away, half hidden in leafy underbrush. His coat camouflaged so well that it was almost hard to see him. "Love, I'm here," she called, her tone biting, sarcastic, cruel. He turned to face her, and, in that moment, everything seemed to stop: Her cold heart stopped thudding, the wind and rain stopped biting into her flesh, and all movement ended. It was a moment to cherish. But it was only a moment. Before he could even respond with anything other then surprise, Shimmer had leaped. She wasn't in the mood for the harsh, long kills that she had practiced so many times in training on poor, innocent cats who happened to stray from their Clans. No, she wanted this to be over fast, she wanted the weight on her sagging shoulders to be lifted and taken away. He didn't even have time to fight back: He was dead before he realized what had happened. The snowy she-cat raised her head in triumph and yowled, letting it all out. And then it was gone.
Code: Whisper
Other: I know she sounds a bit too perfect, but I RP her on every site I'm on and no one's ever complained that I godmod while RPing. You have my word that I will make sure not to on this site, either.

Cool! Maybe after she tries to kill him they somehow both fall in love and it's like a weird thing - but not as dysfunctional as Shimmer & Touslepelt, just they really love each other but they absolutely can't admit it?
