A lithe shape ((I always seem to start out with that...lol)) stood outlined between the pines. The sun was beginning to shine warmly, making the cat's pelt look glossier than ever. She sighed, and called back, C'mon! Let's catch up on the prey before it finishes eating! The scents of vole, mouse, sparrow, chaffinch, and squirrel were overwhelming. Sunfeather drank in the pine-scented air, mixed in with the smell of dew and warm air in the freshness of the morning.

Hollypaw's dark green optics widened as the aroma of prey seemed to rebuff her, as soon as she set foot in the pine part of the forest. The smells of birds, mice, voles, and the other forest creatures filled the air with a soft gentle sort of smell. Hollypaw's mouth watered, and the she cat remembered suddenly how hungry she was, as the tabby had forgotten to eat breakfest, do to the excitement of actually getting out of camp.

Sunfeather's angular head whipped around. Her eyes narrowed. The scent of Hollypaw, the bratty, stubborn apprentice, had reached her sensitive nose. She thought she had asked Hollypaw to stay at camp and not join the patrol....
Hollypaw! I know you're there! Get over here!

Sunfeather hissed loudly, I am the deputy of this Clan! Do not talk to me like that! Next time, this bratty apprentice would return to actual kit status. But wait. Sunfeather couldn't do that. Whatever, Hollypaw would just clean out the elders' den for a week. Or more.

Sunfeather shrugged, and turned around. I guess you'll have to die, then. Poor thing. Her eyes sparkled in malice because she just knew the apprentice would have to obey her sooner or later. Maybe she would tell Snowystar....

I don't have to do anything you tell me to do. She meowed in a sniffy voice, turning up her nose and flouncing away towards a clump of bracket, investigating it for prey.

Sunfeather rolled her eyes. But you do have to listen to Snowystar, believe it or not. She continued to pad away, not giving the impression that she was really ticked off at this apprentice.
