OOC: quick apology - I only had the time to post that I was going away at one site, and I figured that WU was the biggest. And on almost all the other sites I go to, there's a member there.
Winterstar nodded in agreement with her brother. "Yes. In six moons' time, we may be wishing for the cold snows." Even as she spoke of how warm the comings seasons would probably be, she was softly smiling. She was content at the moment, sitting in the slightly melted snow. She looked at Larkwing while she spoke, but when she was done talking her gaze shifted to Flashclaw. He was quiet, and she wondered what he was thinking. Perhaps he contemplated the weather - but then he would most definitely join the conversation. He wasn't, of course, thinking about her. Why would he be? With this in mind, she quickly turned back to her sibling. Although her eyes had switched their focus, her thoughts did not. Does he imagine talking to me as much I pretend to tell him about my little sadnesses and such? But she knew the answer. Control yourself, she warned her mind, attempting to clear her brain of the repetitive inquiries.

Flashclaw felt his leader's blue [?] gaze on him, but held against himself, trying to stop his own amber orbs and ginger head from turning towards her. She was probably just zoning out, and the place where she happened to stare had probably been his orange pelt. He didn't want to turn and not see what he wanted to see... Soon, though, the hotness of his skin faded as he became sure her optics were not focused on him anymore. His tail stopped twitching nervously, and he relaxed his body. He hadn't even realized it had been so tense. Then he decided to slowly, tentatively, look towards her. She was more beautiful than ever...his eyes traced her muzzle, her flank, but then he stopped and tore his gaze away. This wasn't right. At all. But his eyes had a mind of their own. He finally allowed himself to look at her. Just for a bit. She seemed troubled about something...what? He couldn't even begin to guess.

OOC: Kay, I'm here, sorry about that :[
IC:
Larkwing's whisker's twitched as he listened and contemplated the slightly embarrased interactions between his sister and fellow warrior. It wasn't like he didn't know. Larkwing just sort of knew about things like that, but he was quiet about them, never uttering a word, merely listening with amusement and sometimes joy. Once he was sure it was safe to break the eye contact between the other two cats, he raised his own light green optics and meowed, This is true. before going back to staring at his light gray and tan striped paws again.

OOC: Shoot! I had a really nice post, but for some reason it didn't post it...
"Perhaps while the sun is out we should get food for the Clan. Would you two join me in a hunt?" Her muzzle was relaxed into a smile as she spoke, and the question was soft. She looked mostly at Larkwing, her gaze only occasionally flickering towards Flashclaw. Whenever it did, she steered it back again - watching her brother was easier than watching her friend. And she knew why - because he wasn't a friend, exactly, he was more. To her, he was more, though to him, she knew, she was just the leader. Her smile didn't fade one bit, for she always kept such feelings away from everyone. She stood, waiting for the other cats to reply to her disguised command. They couldn't exactly decline the offer, she knew, but it was still nicer to ask than to rudely bark orders.

Flashclaw's angular gginger head bobbed up and down, but inside his mind everything was mixed around. his gaze kept flickering to his leader, and he kept forcing it back to the small, dark stain on the white picket fence. He blinked. His feelings for Winterstar were more than a warrior's should be, and deep down inside, he knew it. But there was some sort of magnetic feeling that attracted him to her.... What was he thinking? There was, first of all, no way she could like him the way he liked her, and obviously, it was against the warrior code. How could a regular warrior, let alone the Clan leader, defy the code? But he pushed his thoughts away and nodded again. He'd have to spend more time with her...but whatever. He would be hunting for the Clan. So he finally opened his jaws and mewed softly, All right. Are we leaving now?

Winterstar nodded, not quite meeting his eye. She started to pad away from the camp to where mice roamed freely in the fields. She didn't wait for her brother's response; he was a sibling, and she knew he wouldn't say no anyway. How could he? She walked quickly, taking in occasional deep breaths, tasting the air for the warm scents of prey. She slowed her pace when the smells became richer, sniffing and listening to locate a little mouse, or perhaps a vole. OOC: I'm sorry - it's late & I'm tired. g'night

OOC: Ugh, sorry. It's just that I have had so many things to do lately...Okay, well here's my excuse for a post lol.
IC:
Larkwing nodded in agreement. A hunt would be nice. He meowed quietly. I went out at dawn this morning, but by all means, yes, we should take advantage of the weather while it's still fine. We have much colder times ahead as we enter the next moon. His advice was wise, but Larkwing's light green optics reflected worry as he delivered the last couple of words. Besides, I'm in the mood for rabbit. He laughed quietly to himself, smiling at the thought of a good hunt.

"You're in luck," Winterstar purred to her brother, a smile in her nearly silent voice. She flicked her tail and went into a crouch, paying the most attention to not making a sound as she slipped forward, eyes on the tiny patch of cottontail white that showed between tall grasses. The scent was warm and fresh, reminding her of new-leaf's eventual coming. The rabbit seemed well-fed and would probably be fast; it would take a lot to catch it. But Winterstar had the energy in her, and she glanced back quickly to make sure the others were ready to begin the chase.

OOC: I'll post a response and then we can wait for her.
IC:
Larkwing purred as he watched his sister kill the rabbit effortlessly. Hopefully an elder won't be wanting that and I can eat it instead! He chuckled. It has been moons since I've had an apprentice...I miss making them do all the hunting for the elders and queens. Larkwing chortled at memory's of his days as a mentor.
