Also tired of standing, Winterstar copied her deputy and stretched out on the cold earth. She dipped her head to lap up some water and noticed, as she did so, that she was lying on the line the water usually rose to. She wasn't very worried, but it was something to start a conversation with. "The brook is shallow. Perhaps this is more of a drought than we thought." She pulled up a little water by making a scoop out of her tongue in a way that cats were so good at, and drank the refreshing coolness. Water was vital to life - it would be disastrous if the creek become dry, though of course that wouldn't happen.

"Yes, the brook is unusually low. Oh, well. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about right now. It's not like it's very drastically under where it usually is." Snowfeather replied with ease in her voice. They knew they had bigger problems ahead and she didn't want to have to worry about the brook right now. That was the least of Snowfeather's problems, but if the brook got too shallow, it would just add to the problems PastureClan was already facing. After she finished speaking, she stared down at her reflection appearing in the water, wondering if she would be able to look at herself the same when she became leader of PastureClan. This isn't going to be easy, and I'm terrified. But, I know I have support from DreamClan as well as Winterstar. I'm sure I'll be fine. she reassured herself, not knowing if it was completely working.

Winterstar nodded a bit absently. Her mind was straying from the empty conversation, and she couldn't help but wonder how Flashclaw was doing. Was he sleeping? The leader felt childish the way she wanted him to casually walk through the brambles right now. Even noticed the leader, but somehow she was alone. She was stranded on a little island, a very important island but a desolate one. Her own strict control kept her on the barren land, but she didn't know how to smile, to let herself breath and relax. There had to be some way to make herself.. but then, wasn't the point not to make herself do anything, right? She sighed a bit, and gave up the train of thought. "Shall we start heading back to camp?" she asked of her deputy.

"Yes, we probably should. It's getting late." replied Snowfeather, wondering what the rush was. She sat up, stretched her paws out in front of her, and motioned for her leader to take the lead back to the safety of the PastureClan camp. Snowfeather stood there for a brief moment, wondering if her leader was all right. She's not usually like this. I hope she's feeling all right. Oh, it's probably just me. She'll be fine. she thought, trying to convince herself that Winterstar was fine.
