Sunfeather looked down. Um..okay. She was disappointed, but...this was what she could have expected. She backed away, hoping he'd give in...her mildly broken heart was in pain right now, but he could heal it with just a sentence.

Midnightstream looked at his paws. He wanted to shout what was on his mind but he had told himself long ago to keep his thoughts to himself. He had already rambled on about his stupid purpose thoughts. Midnightstream looked back towards the camp. "I'll see you around I guess" he mumbled and turned to walk away.

Sunfeather watched him leave...then she blinked. If she wanted this, she had to tell him. So she bounded towards the retreating black shape and blocked him from leaving past the clump of brambles. Midnightstream...I...I like you. A lot. There. It was out. Kind of.

Midnightstream stopped in his tracks. The words of the she cat rang in his ears. He hid his dizziness from Sunfeather. He started to say exactly what he wanted to but he turned his head away. "Im sorry Sunfeather....I would only dissapoint you" he meowed. It pained him deeply but he pushed past the she cat to hide the sadness that filled his eyes.

Sunfeather shook her head and bounded yet again after him. She blocked him and shook her head. Midnightstream, I just know you won't. Her eyes brimmed with hope, and she looked straight into his eyes. They were...sad. Why?

"And know I would. One of these days my thoughts engulf me and bring me crashing down. I will not bring anyone else down with me. Sunfeather you deserve better then a half crazy deputy." He meowed. He looked around for away to get past her. Midnightstream avoided her eyes. "I do love you, but I do not deserve something as great as your beauty. Ignore me please, hide your feelings and give heart to someone who can properly love you, like you deserve" he mumbled softly.

Sunfeather shook her head violently. She tried to make him understand. Midnightstream, no. You're all I want. She'd have to resort to begging. This was so unlike her, but if he really did love her, he'd know what she meant. Please, Midnightstream. Love overcomes everything.

Midnightstream closed his eyes tightly. "The sun is soon to rise, i have duties to tend to" He whispered sadly and edged past her. His pelt brushed softly agaisnt hers as he walked past. The words he said sliced into his own heart like a fierce cats claw trying to rip it apart.

Sunfeather stood, unblinking. Her pelt burned where he had touched her. But he didn't want her. He didn't want her. Her heart had been split into two pieces: Her Clan and him. Now, it was shattered into a million, sliced open by his words. Shock spread through her, numbing her from nose to tail-tip. She didn't know what to do...he'd turned her down. He'd turned her down.

His balance swayed slightly with weariness but he quickly regainned his composure. Midnightstream's tail dragged agaisnt the ground pushing leaves out of its path. The sun slowly appeared like a huge eye about to fully open and look down open the forest. He would usually stop and look at the sunrise but this time he kept walking his head down and his thoughts smashed to pieces. His stomach growled with a deep hunger but he refused to answer his stomachs desire he was in no mood to eat nor would he for a while besides he had to hunt for the clan. Midnightstream forced his eyes to ignore the longing to look back and catch a glimpse of the she cat who he had just turned down.

Sunfeather stood, shocked, as the cat she loved walked away, his dark shape leaving her. Her heart screamed noo! but her mind knew he would need time. Hopefully, though, he would want her, and know she wanted him, after a while. As the sun peeked out from the horizon, she started moving after the deputy, tail dragging in the dirt.

When he entered the camp he ignored the questions about what to do and only flicked his tail towards the leaders den so the would go there. Midnightstream passed the fresh kill pile without a glance and laid down in a corner of the camp.

Sunfeather trailed into the camp after Midnightstream, glancing at him sitting down. She sat near the fresh-kill pile and picked out a thrush, eating it slowly. She sat in the early-morning sunny cool for a long time before she took a deep breath and padded over to him. Midnightstream, I just wanted to tell you...I will stick by and never leave you. If you accept me as your mate, I will do my best to be worthy of the great cat inside you...but you need to open up more and accept what your heart says. Her blue orbs blazed with emotion as she gazed into his own [color?] optics.

Midnightstream avoided the she cats gaze at first then looked up at her. "I have no great cat inside me, but if you are content with that then.....I.....accept....if you know what I mean" He muttered softly once again avoiding the she cats eyes. ooc: his eyes are blue lol

OOC: I thought you gave up Sunfeather and Emeraldfire...You can only have two staff possitions you know. We discussed this, haha. I hope you don't mind but I thought I'd bring in Heatherstorm as I want to RP her soo bad in an active thread. I can delete though if you don't want me posting here.
IC:
Violet colored optics peered out from a vale of lichen. Pushing her nose around the corner of the den entrance, Heatherstorm searched the camp, looking to see if any other cats were out in the middle of the night. Seeing two other cats sitting intimately side by side, Heatherstorm frowned and narrowed her exoticly colored orbs. The young medicine cat didn't think much of love and it's benefits, but more of it's punishments. Her strict loyalties to the warrior code prohibited her from ever doing as much as casting a glance at a tom, from ForestClan or from another. Her loyalties tied her to the code and the way's of the forest, and really, when it came down to it, Heatherstorm really did not need a mate, nor did she want one.
Quietly slinking towards the fresh kill pile, Heatherstorm selected a small woodland mouse from it's meek selection. She had been busy collecting herbs and sorting them, that she had forgotten about dinner, and now the tan pelted she cat was hungry. Grabbing the mouse quickly in her jaws, she trotted back to her den, trying not to hear the voices of the two cats conversing.
